Jupiter-3 Sonnar Frankenlens?

A Carl Zeiss Sonnar coated optical module from wartime period, relatively rare in f 1.5 and coated.
It was probably made for a Contax, but this is mounted in a FSU leica screw mount. Mix of ancient and recent parts.

The rear lens element looks like a zeiss component, hard to say about the rest of the glass elements, although given the 1974 beauty ring from ZOMZ factory the rest of the lens may be USSR manufacture. Also, the rear part of the lens barrel looks like it came from one of the later model black 50/1.5 lenses made in either Valdai or ZOMZ. An the Interesting lens, but I wouldn't pay almost $300 for it.

I agree with Mark on his assessment, Ari.
Brian made me maybe two Franken-Brian lenses so far. In one case, an incorrect glass element was used (by someone), and Brian replaced that element only with an FSU glass. The lens became a very good lens, FSU or German ....

the inner barrel that holds the whole optic group is brass (I mean where the ZOMZ ring is screwed in), and this can only be original Zeiss, not an FSU part.
The LTM black mount is very very later.
