I know its a long shot but has anyone managed to produce an adaptor that will allow a Jupiter 8 to be used on a K mount Pentax SLR?

My knowledge isn't that hot on the SLR lenses so I may have this wrong. However, I think the J-8 was available in M42, for which I'm sure adapters were made. If you mean for an LTM J-8 that you already have, that won't be helpful, of course!

There was no J-8 for M42 mount; maybe you are confusing it with the J-9 (85/f2) of which a M42 mount version exists (and is actually very nice on K-mount and EOS cameras).

The OP's Jupiter-8 is quite useless on a SLR, whatever the mount. It will focus only in the very closeup range, for which, however, the Sonnar lens design is badly suited.

I know it exists http://www.fotoshopaalten.nl/m39-adapter-voor-pentax-pk-p-3103.html
Unfortunateluy it is out of stock at the moment, it will off course hold all m39 glass.

This is largely useless for rangefinder lenses because of the registration distance of SLR lens mounts.

It makes sense only with the M39 lenses for the Zenit series of SLRs (there are some quite gorgeous ones out there, mind you - the Tair 135/f2.8, the Helios-40 85/f1.5) or alternatively with a M39 bellows unit and an enlarging lens for (higher-quality) macro photography and copying slides.
