Another one has just arrived to join its younger brothers and sisters.
Contax I, one dimple, no tripod foot, no slow speeds, marked Germany on the back and scales in feet. S/n AU 21904. 'A' means returned to factory for repairs and I think 'U' means 1931.
Lens clear, rangefinder good, presentable, but shutter away with the fairies and most exterior screws rusted in nicely...making something of a challenge.
Curiously the front moulding around the lens appears not to be brass as on later cameras...can anyone enlighten me?
