I just bought a used R3A that I just found out has passed through more than 2 previous owners and god know how many rolls of film and shutter actuations. Is there any regular maintenance I can do on my own to get it running tip top? Lube points, cleaning points, etc?

Also, is there anywhere I can buy a replacement newer rewind crank just in case this one breaks?

Does the camera seem to work OK to you? Keep in mind that it can't be more than 3 years old; I highly doubt there is a need for maintenance at this point, or at any time in the next several years. And other than keeping it clean and not abusing it, I don't really think there's much for you to do in this regard. Keep using it regularly (and don't leave batteries in it when storing it) and you should be fine.

Why do you think the rewind crank might be vulnerable? That strikes me as particularly sturdy.

People are saying it breaks

I'm the type of guy that likes to go out of my way to keep my toys working tip top beyond the "recommended" maintenance...and I need something to reassure myself that this camera is going to be ok after being passed around so much for its short life so far.
