Bought yesterday from Photo Village in NYC. This the closest I have seen to a real small sensor camera. Now I can always have a camera that I like, in my pocket. See Sean Reid's review for an excellent review of this little gem.

I'm interested to hear more because I've been looking at this camera, and also the Epson DP1.

Let us know how the Ricoh GX200 satisfies your needs as a photographer rather than most people's needs to grab a quick photo of the kids.

If you enjoy it as much as I enjoy my GRDII, you will like it very much.
I'll be looking forward to hearing your reports, as I have some interest in it, as well as in the new Panasonic.
You may already know, but a good complementary site to this one for small-sensor cameras is http://www.getdpi.com.

A few shots

I have the gx100 and really like it. Especially the ease of use and the way it feels and its 24mm lens. The shutter lag is almost nonexistent in jpg mode. But the RAW format is pretty much unusable for real life situations. it takes 5 sec to save. Have they improved that in gx200? How is the higher iso? 200 and up?

I'm on the fence on getting one. I had the Canon G9 since it shoots RAW and all, and it seemed to get great reviews, but I just never used it. It was too slow and the manual controls were a bit too cumbersome for my tastes. Do you have any other general complaints?

RAW on the GX200 now has a buffer. yipee, you can shoot 3 RAW shots at one time by holding the button down.

The only complain I have with the camera are shutterspeed at wide open. At the widest opening you have a maximum shutterspeed of 1/800s. Than you will only have 1/1000s from around f3 until f4, and than after you can go to 1/1600s. Not a real problem in the dark, but very annoying when the light is very bright. :bang:
