I was given an XA, with its flash, yesterday.

I used to sell these new when I worked in camera stores but have never used one.

It has a bright and accurate finder and the meter appears to be spot on.

The one I was given has the very slightest amount of fungus at the edges of the lens.

Are they worth having serviced or do I just sell it off?

If worth servicing to whom in Australia would I take it to please?

Regards
Peter

It depends,,
The camera is worth around $50-75 in most cases.... But a CLA may be higher than that....

Buy a 12x roll and take some photographs with it. The fungus, if only at the edges, may not effect the image at all.

Thanks DNG.

The fungus is indeed at the edges so I am sure that it would only impact on the image if used wide open. I am of two minds if I want it or not. If the cost of a service is worth more than the camera, as you suggest it might be, then I will sell it.

Regards
Peter
