Just got my Canon P...Film Advance...

Hi,
Wondering if the film advance on a Canon P should make a whirring sound when advance the film, Not quite a grinding noise but definetly not completely silent. I have never owned one of these cameras and I would just like to know what other users have to say.

When I had a P, the winding mechanism made a slight sound when used without film. It was completely silent with film in the camera.

one of mine made a zipper kind of sound w/o film in the camera and was much less pronounced with film in.
it never had an impact on the use that i could determine.

on the street no one notices...

good to know...with the film door open it doesnt make any noise...
