I always wanted to do this, pair the XA with a slide film.

Now, I often mentioned that my XA has the affinity to 200ASA films, so I managed to get a 200 ASA Ektachrome... and, ah... read more about it here:

Yes, mine liked slide film, too. The first two shots are on Kodak Elite Chrome 200, the last on Elite Chrome 100:

I noticed that slide film looks completely different from print. I dont know why but it has a luminosity (even when scanned) that you dont get with print film.

Hell I was using Fuji Sensia slide film and it was gorgeous looking. Really makes me want to shoot more of it.

You're right... If you routinely shoot slide, C-41 looks dull in comparison.

And Ektachrome 200 is one of the very best there is...

If by "luminosity" you mean less tonal range - then sure, I agree. ;)

I keed!

They do have a different look. I pick what to use depending on the look I want to achieve in a given situation. (when I have the luxury of pre-planning, obviously).

What is "pre-planning"? I'm not even familiar with planning, but if I could pre-plan I might actually get things done according to a plan that was determined before I had to actually do the work of planning. :D :D :D

Will: My XA has been getting little use lately, I don't know why. But I have a fair amount of Elitechrome 100 in the fridge, so that will go in next. Unless I put in some K64.

Wow guys, nice slide pictures. And good comments on the quality of the slide film. I'm definitely in love with it.

Doug, is that gollum on the third one? :D

Clark, that photo of the young lady and the dog is a hoot!!!

Earl, pre-planning to me occurs less than a minute before loading a film :p

Next time I'll try 400ASA slide, I think I'll still be happy with the grainless and sparkle quality.
