Hi there - been looking through the threads over the last few days and you seemed like a friendly bunch. So friendly, in fact, that I went out a bought a Bessa L just for the sheer hell of it. Can't wait to try it out, but I now need to wait for a couple of months whilst I save up enough for the lens / viewfinder!
Have you any idea how hard it is to have a camera body waiting to be used, but no chance of getting a lens for a month or so? I think I may go mad?!
Cheers,
David.

Welcome David.

RFF is indeed a friendly place and I've learnt a great deal here and enoyed many threads.

My first Bessa was an L too, with a 25mm - its a nice combo.

Then I bought a KM hexanon50/2 lens to use with an R2 that I never bought - waited 8 months :bang: for an R3a to be released - torture!

have fun and post some shot when you get that lens.

I have a 50/2 Sonnar for Contax with no body!!!!!

Save up and when ready grab a CV 25 or 21 for you L and enjoy. I have often thought of buying an L, maybe tomorrow I will just to have a home for my 21.

Awww, you should have posted this earlier this week.

Photo Village has black L's on ebay right now with a BIN option but I am off for vacation next week and they ship via UPS. If they shipped USPS I would do it because the package would be held for me at the post office.

Yes, yes I do! You will go mad, so max the plastic and get a lens now!!

I may have only been reading the posts on this forum for a few days, but I've learnt already that you people are very good and spending each others money! 😉

i too, joined becuase it seemed like a good bunch of people- and i also bought a camera before i could afford a lens-
My R3M -should- be here today, and i'll be borrowing a 40/1.4 from Sep-Nov...

I think i'll pick up a Jupiter 3 or 8 to keep my sanity while i save up for my own Nokton!

Welcome David, glad to have you with us 🙂

Let us know when you are ready regarding what lens you want ... as you probably know, RFF members like to send their equipment around the world 😉

I've only the L body for one day and it's doing my head in already - how I'll hold out for another month or so is beyond me! I'll guess I'll have to stick with shooting with the Rollei 35, or the Kiev 60, or the Kodak DCS620, or the Fuji 4900, or the Kodak Six-Twenty, ......

...Or, of course, I could sell the Kodak DCS620, Kiev 60...

Already got my unused studio lighting equipment up on eBay to bring in some extra pounds (rather than dollars - shops not so keen on $ here in the UK!).

Naturally, when I get the money, I then have to choose between 15mm and 25mm - but I reckon it'll be 25mm. Or maybe the 28mm f1.9, I could do with that extra speed...

Welcome to RFF you'll find many good people here and knowledgeable too.
With the equipment you mentioned you won't be lonely but your new lens will help a lot. Again, welcome.

Welcome from one newbi to another. I have a newly acquired (but well worn) M6 and 50 /f2 summi, but have not had a chance to use it much apart from a week away in Egypt recently. Look forward to seeing some of your shots when you get that lens.

Use the body cap and make a pin hole lens while you wait. 🙂 Welcome!
Thank you all for the very warm welcome!

Love the idea of pinhole camera - the last one I made was out of an old Halina Viceroy roll-film camera.

Cheers!

Dang it frank thats exactly what I was about to suggest and here I thought I had this brilliant idea! Well.. I suppose there can be more than one brilliant mind huh 😀

Welcome!

Hey David,

I'm new here too! It's a friendly place, eh!?

I've got a Bessa L and Bessa R, they've lovely cameras. If you're lucky you can find some good cheapish lenses for it in second hand shops or on ebay. I've got some great second hand shops near me, which helps I guess.

Anyway, welcome from a fellow n00b!

Matt
