Hi
This old Kiev-4 is missing some kind of pin (position A) near the self-timer lever; the other pin (position B) is there and the self-timer is working - maybe a little slower than my other Kiev, but it works. Otherwise, the camera is fine.
Questions:
1) Could this hole be a source for light leaks?
2) Is it necessary to do something or to replace some missing part ?
3) Should any incoming disaster be expected due to the lack of that pin??
I must add that I seldom use the self-timer and I can live without it .
I'm grateful for your opinions and advice

Lacking that pin will bring you years of bad luck and generally all round bad hoodoo
Just fill the hole up with a small dab of car body bondo and you should be alright to shoot with that camera.
I can't remember the last time I used the selftimer on my Kiev 4 , if ever.

The camera was on a shelf for a long time and I was afraid that start using it could worsen something related to an absent part.
Thank you for your reassuring answer

It the hole for a very small screw in stud that seems to act as a stop to the timer lever. I wonder if one of those kits for repairing glasses/spectacles would have something suitable in it...
