Kodachrome on sale at Adorama.

$4.99 for 36 exposure, expires in 05/2007, is a great deal, considering it is the king of archival!!

too bad they only ship by UPS to Canada.

They probably don't really have it. Adorama's web site isn't exactly known to accurately depict their stock.

Thank you for your kind offer.
I am still pondering if I should get more Kodachrome,
as I still have a few outdated rolls in the freezer.

Well, I've just ordered 10 rolls, plus a few other types, as my daughter was asking about trying some and whether Kodachrome was discontinued yet.

Best regards,

John

In for 10. If I get my debit card situation sorted out and they still have them, I'll get at least another 10. Love that film :)

Why do you need mailers? Just send 'em to Dwayne's Photo in Kansas. Why couldn't you shoot several rolls and mail them all at once? That's the only place to get them developed anymore anyway, right?

You are correct, sir. And when the last overseas lab (in Tokyo?) shuts down, it will be the last place on Earth developing Kodachrome. Their web site:

http://www.dwaynesphoto.com

FWIW, I've had nothing but good experiences w/them & the turn-around time from the E. Coast has been pretty fast (about 10 days roundtrip).

Guys,

Quick question -- I haven't shot with this stuff *in years* (head hurts just thinking about it) --- I'm going to the Tetons, Yellowstone and Glacier for 3 weeks this summer (in an RV no less) .

Given the expiry date of May 2007, should I not bother? If it is OK, how to store it?

Thanks!

JT

I prefer Fujichrome to Kodachrome so it is not a problem for me when it becomes impossible to get Kodachrome. I am glad that I am not used to this film. Good luck to all of you who love this great film.

JT: Just keep the film refrigerated or frozen until you go. I'd stick 'em in the RV's fridge or freezer for the trip, allow ~24 hours to thaw frozen rolls, much less for refrigerated rolls to warm up. The expiration dates are pretty conservative in any case.
