Kodacolor Gold 100

I'm about to load the old M7 with a 36 roll of Kodacolor Gold 100. On the box it says, "Official Film of the 1988 Olympic Games." Expiry date: 02/90. This should be interesting. I foresee using 'Color Balance' in PS.

It also says on the box, "New Improved!"

Post some! I recently shot some Gold 100 from 2003. Colors looked more "off" than I thought they would, but it still looked terrific to me. Perhaps even better.

Stores that still stock Kodak 200 and 400 speed 35mm color negative film
now seldom seem to have Gold 100.
It's a shame really; Gold 100 is an excellent film at a very reasonable price.

M7; Elmarit-M 1:2.8/28 ASPH @ F/2.8 I think. I can't recall for certain which f-stop.

License plate altered to protect the innocent, which in this case is me. While shooting the choppers I noted the little magenta sticker on the second bike which reads, "Support your local Hell's Angels."

I managed to get the colours quite neutral in PS. There's now a slight warm cast which was introduced via the 'Photo Filter' adjustment tool.

Not the greatest rendition of chrome, but that seems typical of images (esp. colour negatives) scanned using the Coolscan V ED. It seems to have trouble reproducing the subtleties of chrome.

I believe the 28 Elmarit ASPH has very nice bokeh.

He's got grain.

I don't think that's grain. Most likely digital noise, which one ends with in abundance when one scans colour negatives with the Coolscan V ED.

while my scanner may be horrid, you can see the grain in the print. film was about 6 months expired :bang: and kept in refegerator.

Best of the batch in subject to film pairing. Nice and simple, the gritty look fits this to a tee.
