I have recently acquired a Chevron is excellent condition but I can't find the serial number. Does anyone know where Kodak put it?

Thanks for the help.

Peter

I remember reading somewhere that a lot of early Kodaks didn't have serial numbers for the camera bodies, but rather used the serial number on the lens.

Found it. Usually, Kodak put the serial number on the inside back cover. For some reason the Chevron has it on the body just below the lens.

Yes, it's below the lens, but I can't find any listing to date the camera by that number, only the lens letters. As a medalist user, there's much about this camera that is a step back, but the image quality is incredible, once you get used to the wind sequence. I wish there was more Chevron and Medalist discussion around here...

I bought a Medalist last year, and it's an amazing camera. It's a shame the Chevron seems to have become increasingly expensive, costing more than Medalist II in spite of the reputation of being a less-well-made camera because I'd like one.

How does using the Chevron compare to the Medalist or the image quality compare to other 6x6 cameras?
