Love those Nagel Kodaks. So classic, and functional. The Retinette 1A Type 044 was the last of the Retinettes, and was made in two versions, one with the Prontor 250s shutter, and later with a Prontor 300s. Mine is the earlier model, along with a Schneider-Kreuznach Reomar 2.8/45. No rangefinder, no meter, but it will take the same filters as the Retina IIc,IIC, IIIc, IIIC. Use of a slip-on hood is requred over the filters, as Kodak did not put external threads on the 32mm (29.5 thread) filters, and no bayonet around the lens front, like on the Retina's. A screw-on hood can be used without a filter. It does however have a hot accessory shoe, the only Retinette to do so.

In design, it resembles the Retina IIIS, and is very easy to use. It's only downfall is the lack of a higher shutter speed than 1/250, though it does have an f22 aperture.

I shot a roll of Plus-X in Fincastle, VA, but am reserving those shots for the Plus-X Tribute thread. Well, okay, one teaser here. That lens is nice with the Plus-X. I'm going to miss that film.

Just before the big RFf meltdown, I mean Thanksgiving. The crews had all the lights strung, but when it was time to hang the decorations, it started to rain, so they just left them there on the ground all over town.

Now I hope I can get this posted without the site crashing again.

Remember to go to the Plus-X Tribute thread to see more photos, and a link to the complete set with narrative. http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1747058&posted=1#post1747058
