King of Ernostars. Ludwig Bertele would be proud of it. (the diagram is of it's predecessor but I guess there will be little difference)

Erich Salomon used this type of lens 80 years ago on his Ermanox camera.

I believe these were made in the late 60's.

Pure pre-set, with changable adapters called Uni-P (the chrome thing)
Open aperture metering?
Automatic diaphragm mechanism?
Who need that??
Even when new they were odd already!

Very short and compact for this focal length and speed! (as typical for most Ernostar designs)

Sits on my Spotmatic but haven't any film back yet...

Anyone else have used one of them? (this is my third Komura lens...)
..and yes, they made them in LTM mount too!

have fun, Frank

Frank,

I have one in LTM, and it is a very good lens. Not quite the Canon wide open in terms of sharpness, but it seems to have more contrast. I have also used the Komura 85/1.4 in Minolta MC mount, and that too was quite good.

i would not be too sure that the lens design of your 100/1.8 is the same as the 105/2. Your lens looks to be wider and shorter than the 105/2 -- but, who knows?

Cheers,

David

Yes it's quite short for the focal length -- but with RF mount it would be longer. I don't know if they made it in RF mount, though... maybe the design is slightly different, but Komura stuck to the Ernostar design for all of their telephoto lenses up to 135mm with exception of the superfast 85/1.4.

I would also like to check the 85/1.4.

Lately I read about a Soligor 85/1.5. Probably made just before the Miranda/Soligor/AIC crash in the early seventies.

This lens I've got with a ALPA Uni-Adapter. I would trade it for Nikon, another M42 or Olympus Pen mount adapter.
