I got this off the 'bay for $132.50 and am quite pleased that there are

Thanks, Dave, yep, love Hexanon lenses. My next thing is to get a decent
tripod that will support the weight of the Koni so I can use ISO 100 slide
film with a cable release.

Makes me want do dust off mine two koni omegas and head somewhere.
I'm pretty sure both have had rolls in them for about a year now. But probably won't - it has been awhile since I had any ideas.

Raid, sorry to hear your lens is stuck. I was messing around with the
Auto Up 1 and 90mm on my KRO 100, using expired Fuji 400H:

The original model was the made in the USA Omega 100 with a fixed Wollensack lens (95mm f/3.5?) and it was first marketed as a press camera for newspaper photographers, but by the time Konica got involved it was very popular with wedding photographers. The original model got the name Omega because it was designed and made by the enlarger manufacturer Simon Omega. I recall that it had seperate rangefinder and viewfinder, with the viewfinder immediately above the lens for minimal parralax. The Konica made versions had expanding and contracting frame lines to compensate for coverage at various distances.

The 90mm Tessar design gives some great results, not that the others in
the line, don't. I found out the 60 wide I have is a different design than
the 58, someone told me they were the same, but the 58 has 8 elements
in 4 groups and the 60 has 6 elements in 4 groups. hummm

The articles on the net (and now I can't be sure anymore, but I thought I did read something from Konica as well) are telling the tale that the 58 and 60 are the same lens, but because of some import guidelines that were implemented at some later time, they started to label them differently.
I never gave it a second thought (I still don't remember of the top of my head which one I have) until someone here on this forum posted a thread with their actual optical construction.

Per the Owner's Manuals (which you can get from Mr. Butkus), the 58mm and 60mm are not the same lens. The overall designs are similar, but one is a 6-element, the other an 8-element design. I once started a thread here on that topic, but can't find it right now.
 
Yup, that was it.
Though I wonder if the popular "google" folktale (obviously not coming from Konica if the manual clearly shows the differences) was all wrong.
Just a speculation, but suppose the 58mm is in fact a 60mm as the tale says. Then I can see how people can just assume (without giving second thought) that it's the same as the old lens...
