Hi, have recently purchased a lovely Auto S2, changed the light seals, found a suitable battery to replace the old mercury jobs and adjusted the ASA a little to compensate and am blown away by the pictures. The only slight issue is the length of time it takes the rangefinder images to line up together when I focus on infinity. I'm sure this is simply down to gumbed up lubricants (whale oil apparently?) and sometimes it is fine. Close focusing is very quick. Someone on here had the same problem but after using it a while the issue went away. I hope this is the case with mine as I'm probably the first person to use it in twenty years but wondered if it is the sort of job I could attempt myself and just where abouts inside the camera I would need to clean?

Ok, may have solved the problem myself. Put some wood on top of my log burner then put the camera on top of the wood so it got warm but not hot. Left it there for 15 minutes and the problem has gone away. The grease/oil will have got thinner as it got warmer and has freed up the focusing. Will continue moving it back and forward, from infinity to close up and hopefully in the morning when it has cooled down it will still be working ok, fingers crossed!
