Hello there,

I recently acquired a Konica C35 FD (or Auto S3). It was Cla’d relatively recently, converted to modern batteries and used by its previous owner (eBay purchase). I noticed the lens was loose on the body, a teeny bit wobbly and after researching it, didn’t think much of it since people keep saying it has no effect on image.
More recently, I have been shooting the FD more (I really didn’t have the opportunity since I’ve had it). I noticed that it could focus beyond infinity. A little annoying, but then the next day, I couldn’t focus all the way out to infinity!
After more tinkering, I realized that if I pressed the lens barrel against the camera body (without turning the focus ring), the viewfinder patches change and I can reach infinity focus. I also noticed that the whole lens wobbles ONLY after the GN flash ring. The GN ring is tight.
I haven’t been able to find wobbly lens posts where people had focus issues. I still have a partially shot roll in the camera and I haven’t seen any result from shooting yet. I also haven’t contacted the seller yet (though I will).
Does anyone know what could create this issue? I read about tightening the lens from the inside, outside and peeling the leatherette to tighten the lens but I want to avoid touching things that don’t need to be touched.
Any input or experience?
Thanks

II had a similar problem and took it to the local repairers who asked if the lens was loose before I'd even taken it out of my pocket. I said yes and they gave a price immediately. Two days later I had it back with the wobble and some other minor issue fixed.

I guess it's a simple matter and they know what to do without wrecking the camera.

Thanks, if it's an accessible ring or screws, I'd probably attempt it myself (I have a few tools to do so). But I wouldn't dive deep into the camera. I went back to the listing, found the person who CLA'd the camera (Greg Weber) and sent a message to both the seller and the camera technician. Hopefully they can shed some light on this.
