Konica Ever-ready cases

it it's felt or fabric lined, about the only thing you can do is replace the lining. If it is bare leather, a good leather treatment/cleaner may do the trick.

On my Auto S2 camera case, the previous owner must have had a similar problem, and ripped out the fabric from the "nose" of the camera case. However it was never replaced, and now the "naked" backing of the nose leaves fine white dust on top of the lens barrel of the Auto S2. Not good at all!

I think eventually I'll go the felt route suggested by smasher.
 
ERC of KAS had foamy padding over top of camera. First I wondered from where it falls, afterwards removed deteriorated padding and put over lining. Some materials age with side effects.
 
Yes, that foam under the felt lining has turned into a chalky substance.

I am a little leery about using any kind of leather conditioner to stabilize the case because of potential problems caused by outgassing, but I may try rubbing some some beeswax into the leather and see how well that works.
