I'm having a very bad time finding a new mount part for my Konica Hexanon 50mm f2 lens. I really don't want to have a new one machined, which (I'm guessing) would be very expensive. I would not pay more than 100 dollars for a newly machined part.

Sony is absolutely worthless when it comes to getting help.

A mounting flange is bent, I don't know if it can be re-bent back. I can still put it on the camera, although it's tougher to do than before.

You might be able to find a beater, "for parts only" M lens to get the mount. The screw hole pattern may not match between Leica & Konica lenses. I suppose this is one more example of why Leica lenses are good value for money. They can be repaired easily.

Thanks for the heads up about Sony. I purchased a Konica lens on Saturday. I better take very good care of it.

I wish I had found a hood for my Hexanon. Not that it's broken, but it's pretty scratched and I'd like to get a new one. It seems it won't happen if, as you say, Sony is very uncooperative.

Time to get some black paint! 🙂

Sony is difficult. I haven't had any luck after waiting on the line for 25 minutes for someone to talk to, and if you send them an e-mail, they refer to the phone number. I get the definate feeling sony intends for their stuff to be used, break after a certain period of time, and then get thrown away.

Webber does not have any parts, and pointed me to Sony.

e-mail Don Goldberg at DAG. He'll reply and tell you something about what to do. I'm sure he knows these lenses. You can also contact Sherry Krauter, although I'm not quite sure if she'd work on glass.

Good luck!

Check with Greg Weber at webercamera.com

He is the Konica guy.

That was the dumbest thing I ever said. The Leica mount and barrell seem to be one piece. The Konica mount is attached with 5-6 screws.

Try Eastcamtech. This gentleman has done several Canon 50/0.95 lens to Leica M mount conversions.

EASTCAMTECH

Good luck and let us know what happened.
