I have a Nikon Coolscan V that is slowly dying. I have a chance to get a
Konica Minolta Dimage Scan Elite 5400 II, and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with it on Mac OS X 10.8? Is it supported through Vuescan?
Any input on the quality I might expect is also appreciated.

Yes, it will work with Vuescan.

I have one ( well the Mk 1) but I have stuck to OS 10.6 as the only Silverfast set up that will will run it won't work on later mac OS and I am a bit of a silverfast fan. Great scanner though. Resolution, sharpness and tonal quality are very good - better I think than the new Plustek

I'm quite happy with my coolscan V but if had a chance to buy one from the trusted seller and in vgc i would pull the trigger . I have seen full resolution samples perfectly scanned and processed on this scanner and i couldn't really expect more from the 35mm scanner .

I have the DiMage 5400-1 and it is a great scanner. I scan most slides at the Super B setting, which gives about a 13x19 native print size, but the files will easily upsize for very large prints.
