konica pearl IV on ebay.ca

I don't know whether that qualifies as a "good" price or not (these don't come up for sale very often!) and I can't tell much about condition from the photo (RF glass looks a bit hazy...?) but if I had $1500 to spare I'd definitely be after this one... despite the fact that I don't even like medium-format folding RFs that much, and I've never seen or handled one of these in the metal!

But just going by documentation... this is a rather special camera in the medium-format RF field. It shoots 4-1/2 x 6 cm, which is a very useful format (if you don't mind shooting verticals.) It has niceties such as automatic film stop which many MF folders lack. And until the Fuji GS 645 came along, it was the ONLY rollfilm folding RF ever to have a modern projected-frame viewfinder!

Since it dates from the era when Konica was going all-out for quality (the same era that produced the Konica IIIa, for example) I just assume that its construction, finish and lens are top-notch.

Crud, what a rotten time for the Canadian dollar to strengthen so much against the US dollar!
