I am not quite sure how to term this which is awaited from Kiev -
I needed two bodies to create one original Contax III , and this very rough one donated it's top plate / controls and crucially , meter parts .
I like my Kiev 4s but Autism can't cope with the NOT SAMENESS of the different body - I aquired a 1958 Kiev 4 in terrible condition not worth restoring , which donated it's top plate .
Remarkably , the broken Contax shutter was rescued , the meter fixed with new cell , broken self timer removed and new leather .
The original paint still shows some wear , which may or not be touched in .
Total cost ? Too much , twice the cost of a fake Contax based on a Kiev 4 , but I shiver at those with later sloping face plates , incorrect engraving and wrong self timer .
For me this is the ultimate Kontax IV .
