Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a lab which still processes slide film in Sydney? I'm in the Eastern Suburbs. Now that the Lighthouse at Bondi has closed down, I'm at a loss to know where to send my Provia 400x for processing.

I've tried Lab X in St Kilda VIC previously who do a great job but I was hoping to avoid the costs/hassle of posting.

I'm also considering a Mamiya 7 purchase and if I can't find a lab for slide processing, this will preclude me from purchase (as I only shoot colour these days).

Any advice?

Never knew that the Lighthouse had closed down - that is sad news. Here in Brisbane I use PhotoContinental for my E-6, takes around 3 days and costs $10. Regards, Sean (in the process of buying Mamiya 6, bought the lens, just need the body)!

Someone ese in the Eastern suburbs! G'day. 🙂

I had a few rolls of Provia 400X in 120 done by the newest incarnation of Vision Graphics (I think they merged with another lab?) a couple of weeks ago -- they did a great job, with basically a couple of hours' turnaround, at about AUD10/roll. Results looked like this.

They're in Danks Street, Waterloo -- the web site is http://www.visionimagelab.com.au/.

I believe Foto Reisel in the CBD will take your film and get it processed (they send it out to Vision anyway, I believe) for a similar price -- might be easier if you work in the city.

Vision Graphics have a location in St Leonards as well (a handy 2 minute walk from work for me). And yes, Foto Riesel send their film out to Vision for processing as well (walk in costs in St Leonards ar $12 per roll dev only, yet Foto Riesel charge $9 per roll... for me anyway, YMMV).

Thanks heaps everyone. Amazing that Melbourne still has 4 options but Sydney even less so.

I might try VisionLab as express post to lab x in Melbourne is starting to add up.
