I never use aftermarket straps on any of my cameras including my M's. The original manufacturere has a vested interest in long term performance of his straps. The current Leica strap is easy to attach, is very secure and I have never heard of one breaking. It might not have the cachet of leather but I KNOW it won't break.-Dick

Dick I respect your caution and faith in the reliability of Leica products!!
I'll let you know when this strap fails and my camera goes crashing to the ground but I don't think it will be anytime soon judging by the construction.
I'm not interested in whether a leather strap has "cachet" I bought a second body that came without a strap and so I needed to buy one for it. This looked to fulfil my need and now I have received it, I'm impressed by the quality, so I thought I would share the source with anyone that might be interested
