It was mentioned in another thread that leather half cases may be or become a source of fungus that may attack the lenses. This got me thinking since many members here use Luigi or Zhou cases. I personally have a Zhou half case on all three bodies. So did anyone here get fungus in lenses that may be caused by the case? What do you think about this? Is it better not to use leather accessories?

Leather retains moisture. Storing a camera for long periods of time in a leather case can be a problem. In a half case, when used somewhat regularly, in a non-humid climate you should be fine. Find a camera which has been stored in a closet for years, be careful to check it out.
