Just received an email from Lee Frost. In his email he mentions that he's selling his Pentax 6x7:

"The main reason for sending this email is that I have decided to change
medium-format systems and have a Pentax 67 kit for sale. I have been a
dedicated Pentax 67 fan for about 12 years - never owned any other
medium-format camera - and still think it's a fantastic camera. However, I'm
doing more travel photography than pure landscape these days so I've decided
to switch to the Mamiya 7II as it's smaller, lighter and easier to use
handheld."

For those who don't know him, Lee Frost is a well-known UK photographer. Here's his Website and his Photo Holidays website.

very interesting ... the M7 has made medium format exceptionally viable as the least backbreaking choice. I wouldn't even consider carrying other MF options on travel. Thanks for the note

I shot a Mamiya 7II for a couple of years and eventually traded for 35mm rangefinder cameras. The biggest problem I had was affording the lenses! It's a wonderful system, especially for travel.

Interesting, and a serious conversion to RF! But I wonder why he figures that means he should get rid of his big SLR gear? There's no law that restricts him to one camera system, surely. And it's not like he'll get significant cash by selling used MF Pentaxes. Given the low return, I'd think it would be sensible to set that gear aside for the next time he needs it.

While I'm in RF mode, my 12 Pentaxes including two 67's sit mostly unused. But I know they are better for certain kinds of usage and will someday regain their place in the sun!
