Hello all,

I wonder does anyone have any experience with the Leica 21/24/28 Zoom Viewfinder. I have been surfing the net and the only comment I have found is from Stephen Gandy who says the viewfinder is bulky and dim and he recommends the Voigtlander 25mm viewfinder.

I really appreciate any recommendations from photogs who have used the above viewfinders.

Many thanks,

AJ.

I had this viewfinder and loved it! It was solid buid and gave a clear view. I would not trade it for another. Not to mention it looks REALLY cool when mounted on the camer!

is the view as clear as with the individual finders? it would be nice to just have one to carry - i have all the ind ones...and they are great for viewing but kind of a pain to slide on and of ( not very smooth).. and keep changing..

I find it to be very bright to look through. The only thing I do not like is that I find it to have a high amount of barrel distortion. I also find it hard to have a level image looking through it. Other then that it is great.

I had this viewfinder for a while when I bought a 24mm Elmarit. I wasn't keen on the non-brightline design (I like to see around the edges of a frame) and thought it was a bit clunky for use with just one lens. If I had other focal lengths in the 21-24-28 range I might have thought differently but I sold the viewfinder quickly and acquired the Leica 24mm finder. I found the single focal length finder much better for my needs.
