Happy new year!

Back from holiday and we have internet - woohoo! Bring on the rangefinderforum 😀 I've paid my £15 dues to the forum; one resolution down, many more to go.

Seriously now. While on holiday I managed to loose the lens cap to my 4th gen. 35 summicron. This is the rectangular one. I've still got the hood (model number 12526) but am missing just the cap.

Does anyone have a spare cap they are willing to part with? If so do please PM me. No luck on eek-Bay. Other suggestions welcome. Alternatively - various sites list hood plus cap at ~$70. Would anyone else need the hood but not the cap? I'd be willing to talk about price etc.

Any help much appreciated.

Cheers -

Hey Doctor Zero,

Looks like we have something in common as I, too, need the cap to the square hood for my 35 Cron 4th. Bought mine used and it came with everything but that cap. I've read that this cap is easily lost so I'm not surprised to hear that yours disappeared on you. Anyway, I don't mean to cut in line (or "jump the queue" as I believe it's called there) but if there are two folks out there with caps to sell then I'd like to be next in line (particularly if the seller is here in the States somewhere thus keeping shipping costs down).

Thanks,
Randy

I've asked this in another thread but, here goes again: is it possible to fit a regular 39mm snap-on/click-in cap inside the 12526 hood? Or can it only be used with a big square cap?

patashnik: taa very much! I'll be placing an order to buy one. Much obliged.

Randy: no problems. With the model number from patashnik I saw that bhphoto have the caps, but popflash is cheaper. Strangely, ffordes (in the UK) is cheaper but shipping to the US would make that null and void. I briefly thought of buying two and sending you one but even that doesn't really work.

wpb: thanks for the link. It may yet come to making my own, but I'm feeling rather cack-handed.

jonasv: while a clip-in lens cap physically fits, with my fingers I doubt I would easily get it in or out. I don't have particularly big fingers, but there is little clearance either side.

Cheers for the help peeps!
