Since there is currently not too much progress with our plan to meet in Antwerp I thought I provide a link to the Leica Forum's "Leica Challenge" on 11.12.2005 in Amsterdam: http://www.leica-camera.com/discus_e/messages/2/164063.html?1132224482. Sounds like a lot of fun so I will attend. Maybe some of you are interested as well (Sorry, Leica shooters only, as I understand)?

Too bad, I sold my M2! Will I be crucified with a Bessa T?
seriously though, that thread is so much blabla, I haven't found anything about an appointment...
Rob.

I know. It's too long and none to the point but I did some work and found a few posts in the thread that are useful. Check it here: http://shardsofphotography.blogspot.com/2005/12/leica-challenge-2005.html .
And yes, I think they'll crucify you with the T.
I'm afraid my M2 will also make me a candidate, though.

I also do not know what to expect. But without trying one never knows. The idea sounds good to me. And since it is organised by Leica forum members, the restriction to Leica seems fair enough. So I will be there.
Rob: a Leica lens will do. Maybe you have one?
RML: Wow, that's a ... say different, M2
See you on Sunday!

Jon, do you think the M-Rokkor 40/2 will do? The rules say things should be Leica branded or Leica design. IIRC, the M-Rokkor 40/2 is Leica designed, isn't it? If so, I could use my R-D1 instead if the Golden Dragon.

Sorry, RML, I really can't say. Maybe you can post a quick question on the Leica forum? Otherwise I am curious to see your "Golden Dragon" ...

Remy, you must take your Golden Dragon, absolutely. If only to challenge the purists!

When the shoot-out starts I'll make sure NEVER to be alone in an alley with one of those! I might end up with a Golden Dragon jammed in a body cavity. I hope none of those showing are LHSA members. I hear they employ black helicopters....

Well, I'll be off to the Leica Challenge in a short while.
I'll be bringing the Golden Dragon + Jupiter-8 and the R-D1 + M-Rokkor 40/2. If they allow the Rokkor, I'll be shooting the R-D1. If they don't, I'll be shooting the M2. Fingers crossed for the Rokkor!

For everyone who can make it in time still... the Leica Challenge is held today in Amsterdam, starting from noon. For more details, the location, etc see http://shardsofphotography.blogspot.com/2005/12/leica-challenge-2005.html .

I wrote a little about the Leica Challenge that was held today in Amsterdam.
See here http://shardsofphotography.blogspot.com/2005/12/amsterdam-nr-17-tram-to-central.html and here http://shardsofphotography.blogspot.com/2005/12/back-home-from-leica-challenge-2005.html . No photos yet. Most were cr*p anyway.
In retrospect, it wasn't a bad day at all. I enjoyed it. I just wish it hadn't been so dreary and dim. Anyway, if I can I'd like to be part of next year's Leica Challenge too. There was some talk of Paris being a candidate....
