Hello all,

Just wondering if anyone has compared these two cameras along side the other.

Leaving aside the interchangeable lens options with the CL, how does the 35SP stand up in temrs of lens quality and how do the cameras match up?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Tony

SP has:

+ Spot Meter
+ A built in fast f1.7 Zuiko lens. Nice and Sharp

- Is big by comparison to the CL or Hugh compared to the 35 RC
- Bubble prices right now, dominated by the Lomo crowd.
- The foam tend to deteriorate
- It isn't a Leica.

* Uses the same Px625 battery as the CL
* Finder can be just as faint as the CL

my $0.02

Does the SP have a leaf shutter? I think it does. If so, it will be a lot smoother and more quiet than a CL. I don't love the shutter on the CL, it's not as vibration free as my M6 or any of the 70's rangefinders that I have. However, the reason I moved to the CL from my 70's rangefinders was for the lens choices. The cameras are really apples and oranges, just different beasts. I love the Summicron-C, more than any lens in the fixed rangefinders. However, those smooth leaf shutters are a wonderful thing. Just some thoughts.

The odds of the meter working in the SP is substantially higher than finding a a CL with working meter based on observations.
