I was searching for a magnifier for CL's viewfinder, but I didn't have any results. Even for a DIY solution.
I was thinking that this could possibly improve its focusing accuracy.
(superficial learning, possibly...

I'm rather interested in this as well. Have been using a 35 mm lens, but am not very satisfied with the inaccuracy of framing, especially as I am a spectacles wearer. Could not find anything on ebay

The CL has a very short rangefinder base, which is why it may be difficult to focus. I never had any issues w/ that even w/ a 90 lens, but some people do. The easiest solution for eyeglass wearers might be an aux finder.

I doubt there is anything specifically made. How about trying something like the Seagull 2.3x magnifier (multifit) and letting others know how you got on?

Here's a suggestion, but not sure if it will work.
Buy one of those cheap tourist slide viewer keychains. Little magnifier is usually made of plastic.
Remove and if large enough. file to rec. shape and use a silicone type of adhesive, so its easy to remove if needed.
Only problem is. Not sure if magnifier is convex or one surface is flat

I can't find one right now, but maybe the slip-on diopter changers that Olympus
offered for the OM (film) cameras would work with a little trim on the CL.
edit: Dioptic Correction lenses. Scroll down the page to see:

There is a chart explaining the posted values.
If I can find one (I had several) will try on my CL.

Pen F dioptric viewfinders will slide over the square CL VF. They will not stay on tight, though--they'll slip off when you're not looking-- unless you perform a more permanent hack. They do have comfortable eye cups, nice for shooting without glasses, as I prefer.
I don't know whether standard OM dioptrics/magnifiers will fit, and I don't know if Pen F magnifier vf exist. But I focus and shoot my CL happily enough with a -3 Pen diopter.

Minolta CLE eyepiece corrector??
Minolta CLE eyepiece corrector??
I've never seen these for sale, but if you could find the right one ??
Also, I've included a photo of the interior eyepiece configuration on my CL (ser. # 1329xxx). Would someone please confirm whether this is standard issue, or a modification? The viewfinder is as crisp in the CL as any of my other rangefinders so I am led to believe that it is unmodified.
Thanks for your input.

Home made diopter for CL
Home made diopter for CL
I just made a do-it-yourself solution. I took a dollar store eyeglass of the correct magnification - 1.5 in my case - and took out the lens. I cut it down to almost correct size with a razor blade and then slowly sanded it down to the exact size on sandpaper. I got it to fit tightly and the difference in focusing and viewing is night and day!
While I was fitting the lens my viewfinder on the Cl came out snd I saw that in fact the lens could easily be mounted on the inside instead of the outside. I will need to cement it back in of course but before I do I will debate weather to have my diopoter on the inside or outside.
Here is a picture of the result... fits real tight without any adhesive.
