Leica D-Lux 6

Other than the fact that it looks like someone had the punchy color preset at 11, the images look good. The color is way too hot for my tastes, though.

Ha...seems like a lot of folks run the vivid color on images. I prefer more natural colors in general.

Surprised how well these turned out. With the fast 1.4 lens and the telephoto, it looks quite capable. It is the styling (nikon blob-like) of the camera that is not to my taste, but I can't get everything to look like the M3 or the Barnacks.:p

Picked up a Lumix LX-7 for my daughter and it has me wanting one. Probably, one of the last really small sensor enthusiast compacts, but certainly maximizes what it has. It made me realize that my X100 wasn't compact.

Love your images, especially that third one.

Hi, Jim...

Loving your photos...sorry I am just now catching up with this thread. I now have a better organized photographic tool bag situation.:p

I currently have all my Nikon gear in an old Domke backpack and a Nikon shoulder bag. The Leicas are now housed in three bags: the Billingham for when I want to take "everything" or just the rangefinders; the 5XB Rugged Wear for the X1; and a black 5XB for the R4. Now I don't have to unpack, repack, shuffle, forget, utter an oath or two, or anything...just get the bag for the task and go! Still got to get a dedicated bag for the Ciroflex, though.

The X1 may need a digital partner like the D-Lux 6. I am wondering about selling the IIIf and a couple of other things to get one as the images are terrific, and, the zoom lens covers most everything else that the X1 does not.

What do you think? A super-lightweight digital kit in a 5XB Rugged Wear bag?

The Lumix LX7 is coming down in price - at least over here it is (UK). It still doesn't anywhere match the Christmas US promo price though.
Can't see you need a big bag for it - something that fits onto your belt and a good wrist strap - that's all I have for my LX1.
