Hi,

I would be interested in seeing some photos taken with the new Leica Elmar 24mm f3.8 ASPH. I searched Flickr and did not see much. I already saw the ones from Tom A. when he first had the chance to try the lens several months ago but since that the lens has been officially released so there must be some people out there who bought the lens!

Please share some photos and comments/critics on the lens.

Cheers.

Hi,

you can see some images made with this lens in one of my galleries

There is nothing to criticize from my point of view and I very much like it.

Thanks for the link. I saw that you also have the Biogon 25/2.8, how would you compare the two lenses, which one is your favorite? In terms of character (speed is not an issue for me).

I did not compare the Biogon to the Elmar. I substituted the Biogon with the Elmar. The main reason for that was that the Biogon was not coded for the M8. It gave me quite some trouble with the UV/IR Filters. Especially in snow and and bright scenes. You can see it in the images 'Agriculture Traffic Allowed To Pass' on he 3rd Page first row. Just check the first 3 images there you can see a blue vignetting. I don't have this problems with the Elmar. Besides of that, the Biogon is a fine lens, IMHO.
