Hi everybody!

Im interested in buy this enlarger. I would like try to find one in good/excellent condition. Apart of Ebay, which other shops (in Europe and America) can have in stock the Leica Focomats V35 of second hand?

Finally, what are your experiences with the Focotar 40 mm 2.8? Do you have the Heiland Splitgrade? Its a really useful?

Is some RFF member thinking in sell one?

Thank you very much.

Best wishes,

David

Hola, David.

These come up occasionally; I actually saw two of them last year (not on ePrey, but in person). About the size of any other regularly-sized, B&W diffusing enlarger. Not cheap. You just have to keep your eye open for one.

Are you building a darkroom?

My photo mentor had a Valoy (previous model) and it was really nice to use. I've never used the Focotar, but I'd kill to have one; everything I've read says it's great.

As Gabriel says, they're not cheap unless you happen on a good deal. Here in the US and Canada we can sometimes find good buys at garage sales where someone either doesn't care to ask for market price or doesn't know the value. I once bought a 5cm Nikkor for $1.00 that was then sold on eBay for $1100 CDN.

I sold mine for $550 a couple of years back with the Focotar.

It's a very, very nice enlarger. Once you get the autofocus dialed in, it works well. :)

Thank you guys for your comments.

I know its a bit rare to find, but I continue search.

Kevin I had bought your Focomat inmediately now! ... ;) ahh thats a very nice price.

Best :)

David, Im understand your decision. I prefer too buy then enlarger in the EU zone, the customs and the package are less problematic.

Thank you.

:)
