I wear glasses and I want to protect them from getting scratched. I just bought a Leica III with the seperate rangefinder and viewfinder. Can I buy some kind of plastic or rubber guard to put over the viewfinder eye piece? If not any suggestions on making something up? Thanks

perhaps a small rubber washer that fits snuggly over the VF port? i have a IIIa (and am to receive a III later this week) and also wear glasses, so am looking at what may be available. in use thought i haven't found it to be as much of an issue as an M Leica with no guard on the metal eyepiece ring.

Thanks, but why is the M eye piece harder on glasses than th leica IIIa or III eyepiece? They are both metal.

just my subjective personal experience with both, no other reason. it's probably just psychological tbh, M body eyepiece is much larger than the small screw mount camera.

with the M bodies I found myself really pressing them into my glasses (and face), where with the screw mounts I tend not to so much.
