New to this forum but I collect WW2 photography and the machines that made those pictures. Doesn't have to be a Wehrmacht inscription one but something from the era is ok too. So I was very happy to pick up this Leica III at a local auction for not so much.
According to the serial 345324 it must be IIIb from around 1939/1940? I did read about only IIIc sent to Odin in the Netherlands?
It has a Summitar 5cm with serial 524607 so they must be a couple ever since.
I have a Contax II which makes decent images. I'm new to old Leicas but this one feels and sounds good, shutter times sound like they're on, shutter itself looks good. But then again, have to bring it to a Leica friend first and put a film in.
It was accompanied by the leather camera bag, SB001 viewfinder, Summitar lens hood, a Mittelgelb B+W filter and 1950s Gossen Sixton meter.

The IIIb is my favorite classic Leica. I've had two, sold one, but kept the one below.
And, yes, N-L indicates that it was assigned to the Dutch Leica dealer Odin.
Congrats and enjoy the camera.

All Barnacks are small and take pictures, but the IIIb is the prettiest of them all.
