Finally, my Leica IIIf CLA has gone fine....

I got the photos back today, of a test roll. No shutter pinhole leaks.

Speeds are working fine.

Shutter isn't sticking any more, although the slow speed, on first firing, isn't as smooth as I like. From the second firing onwards, it is fine.

Seems like the original issue was the first attempt at sealing the shutter curtain, resulted in a goopy coating that was sticking the shutter together. It is now cleaned off and drying fine.

And I can now field strip and reassemble an IIIf in under an hour.

Congrats!

And "And I can now field strip and reassemble an IIIf in under an hour" sounds cool. Somehow I pictured Jackie Chen or Steven Seagal strips down enemy's gun pointed at him to pieces in a second. 😀

Going to the other end of the spectrum, now that your M8 breathed its last?

Glad you can field-strip a IIIf. I'll leave that to experts. Any attempt to do so on my part would simply result in a pile of parts....
