Leica IIIf, sticky shutter (nothing serious!) Repair or not repair?

Hello Photographers,

I just noticed that the shutter release is a bit delayed (about 1/2 second) when I release it.
It occurs, when I cock the camera and put it away for several hours, mainly one night. The camera works fine and without any problems after I advance and continue shooting, until I cock and put it away again.

So whats your opinion? I realy dont worry that much about it, but I am a bit scared about possible future consequences, if I dont get it repaired now.

Start saving money slowly for a cla as you continue to use it. Or if you have the spare cash, get it fixed, not because of worry about damage, just because it's the right thing to do. Treat it right and it'll treat you right.

Sounds like a dry shutter. Do NOT oil anything. Bring the camera right away to a competent repairer. Oil can easily destroy a repairable camera.

I end my photo taking sessions with the shutter uncocked, then advance when I'm going to use it again. My five thumbs on each hand would sometimes release the shutter when I didn't intend to, most of the time this took place when putting the camera away for a nap!
