Hi Folks,

I've been offered a Leica M3 that overall seems to be in good used condition but I do have one query about the frameline selector, is it spring loaded? As it seems to always revert to the 1 o'clock position. It has a Voigtlander 35mm lens attached at the moment and I don't have a different lens to try. I've tried trawling the forum for an answer to this but have found nothing so can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Yes, the frame line selector on the front of the body will return to a 12/1 o'clock position. It's a frame line preview lever, so it's not meant to stay where you put it, it's just so you can quickly look at a frame line to decide if you want to change lens.

When you mount another lens, like a 90mm, the M3 will select 90mm frame lines for you, but be aware the M3 does not have 35mm frame lines at all.

Thanks for your help, that's great news. I think I may be about to become a Leica owner :D
