Hey all, I just got my M5 back from a CLA to fix a shutter curtain issue and now the metering arm won't retract when firing the shutter! I got a whole roll that looks like this and I verified the problem by dry firing when the film loading door open. Needless to say I'm disappointed. I don't suppose any of you intrepid souls know of an easy DIY fix for such things. Thanks!

I've had this happen to me, and it's the worst feeling to have an entire roll ruined like that. My meter arm will get stuck in the "up" position if I depress the shutter button multiple times when the shutter is un-cocked. Mine remains in the "up" position until I unmount the lens.
If you have a LTM-M adapter, you can test that it properly reset. The semaphore arm automatically retracts when you unmount lenses, and the LTM adapter tricks the camera into thinking there's still a lens attached.

A combination of KEH and Leica. KEH ensures their warranties, so I can send it back to them and get it fixed for free, but I'd also like it done right. Quite the conundrum.

Sorry to hear !
never had that happen
Send it back asap... You mentioned KEH it has a warranty, but did Leica not give one for their work ?
Best of Luck with a prompt & efficient return

I would chop off the arm of my cl since the metering cell is dead but yours is probably fine
