I have a Leica M7 nr: 277xxx.

I have just sent to Youxin and asked him help me to adjust the rangefinder, clean the view and tighten the top plate.
After two weeks, I get it back from Youxin and the rangefinder has been adjusted, the view has been cleaned and the top plate has been tightened.

Unfortunately, the shutter curtain has the big problem. it works the same speed though I roll the dial speed anywhere. I set the dial speed from 4s to 1/1000, the shutter curtain works the same. The speed B doesn't work anymore.

The electrical system seems still oki, because when I set dial speed at 4s, load film, and shoot. I see the counter in the view works 4, 3, 2, 1... and I have to wait 4 seconds to shoot again.

I asked Youxin why my camera has problem which never happens before I send it to him. However, he replied that I should send it to DAG to repair, because it's not his fault. I don't agree with his solution.

Anyone please help me to let me know what is problem? and how can I solve this problem? Could you suggest me a good service which I can send my M7 to them?

Thank you very much.

Ouch. I don't know the insides of the M7, but the shutter speed is electronically controlled. Sounds like something is not communicating the dial setting to the circuitry that controls the release timing of the second curtain.

At this point, I would only trust a Leica service place (Solms, New Jersey, ?) to get this right. The M7 shutter likely needs the Leica computer to re-do the settings and calibration.

Youxin Ye now repairs metered Leicas ?? 😱

... Sorry to hear about your M7. The only recommendation is to sent it to Leica (USA / Germany) and have the camera checked / repaired. It will take time and won't be cheap ...

Thanks all!

I've asked DAG about the problem. I will send it to DAG.
I still wonder why my M7 has problem after come back from Youxin. It never happens before. DAG and Youxin said that he didn't open the top plate, he did not cause any problems.
Where does the problem come from? :bang:

@Nikon:
Thanks for your interesting.

The top plate of M7 was very slightly loose, but it did not effect anything at all. Youxin knew that, he checked my camera when he received it.
The rangefinder seemed incorrect and the view had a few dusts inside.
I sent it to him to ask "adjust the rangefinder, clean the view and tighten the top plate".

I didn't know what he worked on my M7. When I got it back from him, the speed system has problem. I asked him why? he told me that he did not open the top cover of my M7, so he doesn't think he caused any problems. That's all.

However, I don't think my M7 has been broken itself. I have sent it to DAG this morning. I hope everything will be oki.
