Hi everyone - I''m pretty new to this forum - to Leica - and honestly I probably need some photography classes.

I'd like some constructive criticicism.

Nice - didn't know Leica M8's could take 300mm lenses ;) (well technically not true anyway, but good shots - damn you must have been close to those animals !!)

My favourites are Numbers 2 and 4. So what lens or lenses did you use ?

I was wondering that also ... big cats and rangefinders don't seem like a good combination to me, but you've managed it!

Great shots. :)

On private game reserves you can get within a metre in some cases. Due to the fixed focal length - Leica is perhaps not the ideal camera - but there was ample opportunity due to the sheer number of animals.

For some reason they don't associate a game vehicle like we see a can of tuna...

For 2 and 4, the Lens is a 50mm pre-asph summilux version II.

It quickly became my lens of choice on the trip - but I do wish I had a longer focal length...

The one of the cheetah in front of the jeep is awesome, the elephant ones are good too. I don't think you need lessons! Maybe as the teacher.

I'm somewhat embarrased at your praise. I do think my biggest downfall is composure. Remember too that you are seeing the very best of something in the order of 700 photos taken. And that these photos are then adjusted in Lightroom.

There were plenty of duds / out of focus shots / blurred etc. One big lesson I learned with the M8 is that for objects at distance - any hand movement / shutter vibration is amplified by that distance!
