Leica MIKAS microscope adapter on M-digital cameras

I have a Leica MIKAS screw mount microscope adapter, but to use it on an M-mount camera I need to use a screw to M-mount adapter. Does it matter what type of adapter I use (I have a spare one for 28mm or 90mm lenses available)? I appreciate that the focusing will be done within the microscope so would I be right in thinking that any adapter will do?

I hope someone can help please or should I just try and see what happens?

On the M 240 an adapter with a cut-out can give a “no lens attached” error. Use any aftermarket adapter without cutout, but not the original Leitz ones.
If the ones you own are ok on a lens they should be allright.
