After about ten years my black Minilux has stopped working and the screen says 'E02'.
I know this means a new shutter.
Where to get it repaired in Europe and how much will it cost?
First thoughts are either CRR in Britain or Leica in Germany. I've looked around the internet and €250 has been mentioned, but also $150 which is quite a bit less expensive.
Doe anybody have any recent experience or information about this?

After more research I can see that CRR don't repair autofocus Leica cameras.

The Leica rep in Lisbon has quoted €120 plus VAT, with a 24 hour turnaround.
Does this sound about right?
Has anybody else had work done by Comercialfoto of Lisbon and can recommend them?
I had thought it would be more expensive than I can afford and was just about to bid on an Olympus mju V at eBay.

waiting for friday
John it may be cheaper to buy another one (ffordes have quite a few), that's what I was planning on doing if I ever get the EO2. It's a shame that the camera has this problem as it's one of the best P&S on the market IMHO.

Thank you DMG.
The repair is cheaper than a ffordes used camera which may well have an E02 fault at some time.
Does anybody know if the new shutter assembly fitted after an E02 fault is an improved version or just the same as the original?

Bump.
Because I want to make decision soon.
Heck, I want the camera working again soon.

If you can get it done through an official Leica dealer where you live, I'd say do it that way. You'll have a garantee on the repair, so that if it goes bad in a short time again, you can have the repair fixed. Hmm.. that last bit sounds somewhat odd, but I guess you know what I mean..

Thank you, you're right.
I sent it to Comercialfoto (Leica Lisbon) on Wednesday afternoon, and they told me they could do the repair in 24 hours. So, it should be on its way back to me today, although they said that the courier company would take 48 hours to get it from Lisbon to me (100 km) and they don't work weekends.

It's back already.
Leica UK replied this morning and quoted more money and 3-4 weeks turnaround. Too much and too late.

Yes.
Leica cannot have sold more than a handful of Miniluxes in the whole of Portugal so a fast cheap repair was very welcome.
