I've just realized that there was no Leica SM forum ... Let me know if it's ok to post here ...
I have the opportunity to buy a Leica SM IIIf Red Dial, Self Timer with 5cm2.0 Summitar and case in mint- condition. Has been CLAed lately ... Price is $1150 ... Is this a reasonable price ?

No. I think this is much too high a price for this kit. $600 would be more reasonable.

To Me that seems a little rich... I am know expert, but you could buy a nice M3 or M2 rig for that money.. (If you wanted to) (Camera and Lens)

I echo what FrankS and SkinnyMcGe said. Way too high IMHO- $700 or so in extraordinary shape would be acceptable.
If it was a IIIg with a Summicron, that would be a good price.
But it is way too much for a IIIf with a Summitar. $600~$700 is more reasonable.
And Posting in the Leica "M" forum is fine. I think this is where all the Leica specific postings end up.

Some people are sentimental about their old cameras, and they tend to ask for prices that are unrealistic. Also, a CLA's cost in never paid back in the sale of the camera. It just improves the selling price slightly.
I'll look at something around $700 or so ... It will be my wife's present for my twin birth
