I guess not many of us have seen this sample. I tested it this morning. It is an exact copy of the original Leica summicron with better coating though. By "exact", it means same lens design, inside and out.

It's a test sample, so the black paint is a bit rough. We are testing the opticals and build quality.

And yes, the Nikon 50mm f2 is coupled with Leica. 🙂🙂🙂

First time I've heard of something like this. Obviously the 8 element design is pretty old. Does it render like the real deal? I wonder if this will lead to counterfeits.

Whoa, I am intrigued. Whats the likelihood of this being produced? I would definitely be interested in such a lens. Please upload some examples from the lens when you can!

Not a terrible idea, patents have expired, is there any other obstacle to marketing something like this?
Including the word "copy" in the thread title would have made things clearer🙄

As far as the Leica copy goes, well, that aught to be interesting. I might be game for one. Crazy stuff coming out of China these days.

Might want to consider making it a screw mount lens with an adapter, or at least have that as an option.

Black paint seven element rigid 50 Summicron next please. Leave off the infinity lock.

I had a nice 8 element 35/2, but sold it to a collector. This lens I would be fine about using as hard as I liked.
