Lens diaphragm

I just received a Yashica 35CC in the mail and was going over it when I noticed something odd. I had the lens stopped to f4 and was looking through the lens from the back and noticed the apeture shape wasn't round, it was kind of a triangle. I went through the stops and all but the 1.8 had different shapes from oval (f16) to triangle-ish (actually the shape of the stealth fighter). I had never seen this before so I searched the web and found out this camera uses only 2 diaphragm blades. It looks strange but I guess it works, I have a roll in it so we'll see. Anyone else have a lens with 2 blades, How well does it work?

This is normal in compact cameras, though the 35 CC is in a different category, I suppose. I have the Yashica T5 and the Minox 35 that have those two-blade diaphragm/shutters, and the out of focus zones are not distinguishable from the GR1v, that uses a conventional 7-blade diaphragm. Maybe for lenses 35mm and wider it is not as critical as for more normal focal lengths.
