I need front and rear caps for a 28/2.8 lens. I want usable caps not anything collectible. A push-on cap for the front would be fine. A screw-on cap for the rear seems more problematic. Can anyone tell me what sizes and threads to look for and where I might find such caps?
Thanks,
Helene

The front lens cap should be 42mm diameter for a push-on style, and 40mm for an internal clip-on style. The rear screw mount accepts standard 39mm LTM type caps.

Two suggestions: If you live in a city that has an old fashion camera store...sometimes they have boxes of lens caps, etc. that they sell cheaply. Also, try dagcamera.com They sell parts.

Leica metal Summicron caps will fit Canon 40mm filter lenses. Not cheap, but easy to find.

Oh, yeah. FED caps for an Industar-61 fit just fine.

You might also check out "heavystar" on ebay; lots of new metal rear caps and probably front caps as well--not positive about front caps fro your lens as I don't own one and so haven't been particularly looking.

Yuri w/ Fedka.com has Russian (?) made silver screw- on rear caps. They work fine for my Canon lenses. Often, Ritz and Pacific Rim have used front caps.
