I'm not an xp1 owner, but I did hear about this problem in this video

Apparently its the aperture blades moving around. That sucks.

The work round I found to stop this is to use the Optical View Finder, and turn off the live view screen, this seems to stop the aperture blades clicking it also and cuts out the noise the camera makes when switching between the optical view finder and EVF. It may not suit everyones style of working.

It's the aperture adjusting to keep the LCD/EVF at a consistent brightness. Doesn't bother or suck for me, and others apparently. But it bothers enough that I would be surprised if Fuji doesn't allow for some more easy control over it.

I haven't really noticed it when in use. Yes, if you listen closely you'll hear it but I can honestly say I've not noticed it.

You might want to book a hearing assessment if you can't hear it.

Does this happen in Aperture Priority?

Does this happen in Aperture Priority?
Aperture priority, entirely manual, entirely automatic -- if the camera's turned on and one of the Fuji X mount lenses is on the camera, it happens. The only way to make it not happen so far as I can tell is to turn the power save feature on, use the optical viewfinder only and turn the LCD off (if powersave & the LCD aren't off it'll make the skittering sound even if you are using the optical viewfinder).
Other unfortunate reality related to this -- when you're using the electronic viewfinder the aperture you're looking through is not necessessarily the aperture you've set it to.
I do not get this feature at all -- I see no real reason for it. I've spent a lot of time, now, with Leica M lenses on the Fuji and the EVF & LCD really adjust quite quickly to brightness changes and things look just fine with an M lens wide open in full sun. It is irksome, it makes manual focus unreliable (fortunately, so far as I can tell, the 35 doesn't show any evidence of focus shift) and I'm just not sure it does anything useful.
I really enjoy this camera and am not really a critic, but I would really like Fuji to give people an option to turn this feature off.

It happens in aperture priority but as I said earlier, I think I have noticed it once but in general use, I haven't noticed it in use. It'll happen if you leave the power switched on when you are not using the camera as the aperture is constantly adjusting to the light levels.

The best camera is one that still works!
I just fired the shutter on my 67ii Pentax ... it puts all other camera 'noises' into perspective!

Doesn't bother me, really. My Leica X1 did the same thing.

I turn off my hearing aid and all's well!
Only kidding, I hear it but it doesn't really bother me.
Clearly it bugs some folks a bunch.

Robert, I bet you could make a music video using your hand and the sounds of the aperture blades. With all the interest in the Xpro1 it could go viral.....

It does bother me but love the camera.
Any thoughts on larger frame shifting on ovf display? I should really look at the manual.
